Berkshire Women Write!

The Berkshires and our surrounding area has been home to a myriad of talented and influential women writers over the years. Some of our most famous women authors include Edith Wharton, Catherine Maria Sedgwick, Edna St. Vincent Millay and Harriet Beecher Stowe, to name a few. The Berkshire’s contemporary literary scene continues to enjoy hundreds of talented women, many who have become quite famous and influential in their own right.

It is our intention to profile new books (and some not so new ones), by local women writers.  If you are a woman writer living and writing in or around the Berkshires, or if you have a strong connection with the Berkshires, we’re hoping you’ll be a part of the network. If you have a new book or your book is soon to be released, please let us know, because we want to talk about it.

Keep checking for book profiles and reflections from some of these local writers. This blog is a supportive community for women writers, poets, and editors in any stage of their writing career. It’s a forum for discussing the joys and frustrations of writing, celebrating a published book (and even shamelessly promoting it), discussing nascent ideas for your next project, and all other things literary.

We will be using this new site to publish online some of the bright talented women writers of the Berkshires.
